the thing about depression and other mental illnesses is when you talk to people who don’t have it they think it’s interesting and romantic at first and then as time goes on and the novelty of being with someone who’s “sad” or “damaged” or whatever wears off they get tired of hearing about how suicidal you are they get annoyed when you cry all the time and get sick of having to talk you out of cutting but the depression itself doesn’t go away even if your fascination with it does
